Art graduated from Stephen F. Austin in 1985 with a BBA in Finance. He received his MBA from the University of Phoenix in 2005. He is approved to teach various accounting courses at U of H, University of Phoenix, and HCC. He is involved with the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program and teaches the Money & Metrics and Being Bankable Modules.
Art has worked for three of the Big 4 accounting firms and was a tax director for two public companies. He has a wide variety of domestic and international tax and accounting experience which allows him to provide deep technical expertise to his client base and work with his clients to assist them in meeting their goals. Client industries include publishing, distributing, service, construction and development, and airline.
Representative Experience Includes:
- Business Advisory & Consulting; working with closely held businesses and their advisors to teach them how to read and analyze the company financial statements, with the intent to use the information as a management tool for decision making; working with business owners on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis; helping business owners understand and prepare various metrics to measure their existing business success, as well as help them analyze potential growth areas.
- Domestic and International Tax Compliance; preparation of federal and state business and personal income tax returns, as well as filings resulting from foreign holdings, from small, closely held businesses to multi-billion dollar corporate conglomerates; expatriate and foreign national taxation; assisting clients with becoming compliant with their foreign financial assets including submissions under the Offshore Disclosure Program and Streamlined Disclosure Program.
